By the way, I pressed the strip sets toward the greens, then pressed the long middle seam toward the black as Bonnie instructed. Pressing to the side helps the intersections to nest and I definitely need that extra bit of help to keep my seams aligned.
Today was the holiday party for my home airport pilots.I made pulled pork for the potluck dinner and it disappeared quickly. Then Santa arrived in a Cessna 172. My brother said Santa was supposed to be at a mall in Indiana today. I guess Santa made a quick trip to Pennsylvania to visit us, too!

Every year it seems to take me longer to get into the spirit of Christmas. Finally today I felt like decorating the tree and the rest of our house. I also made toffee, but am planning to give it away so I won't eat all that buttery, chocolately goodness. I hope you are feeling the Christmas spirit, too!
Seeing your green and white mystery blocks makes me want to get back into the sewing room and begin them! I just finished sewing step 2 tonight but still need to press them open and join the two pieces into a 4.5" block. I am having so much fun sewing along with you all! This is my first ever Quiltville QAL.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing step 2! I have quite a few more to go. Glad to hear you are enjoying the mystery quilt. Bonnie's quilt designs always turn out amazingly beautiful.
DeleteYour Grand Illusion units are looking great. And yes, it isn't a race , take it easy and enjoy. That is my motto. I am like you with Christmas, just got my tree up this weekend and baked a few cookies.
ReplyDeleteI'm working slow and steady as well. Will eventually get it done, right??
ReplyDeleteYou betcha! I may even finish up Celtic Solstice finally.
DeleteHi Sandy. Your Santa photo on the Monday link-up caught my eye. My husband is a retired airline pilot, and he taught me to fly in a Piper Arrow. I have 80 hours, but did not get my license because of back pain issues. He tells me that a Cessna is a breeze to fly (is that true?). I tell him I am flying through my piecing on my Bernina! I am having fun with this mystery project from Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteAre you and hubby planning to fly on New Years? Evidently that's a tradition around here, so we are joining a group visiting a local airport for lunch.
DeleteYour units look spot on to me! Great colors and fabrics too! I had NO Christmas spirit last year. This year, the weather was cooler, and I kind of found it again. Are you a private pilot, or commercial as well?
ReplyDeleteYour clues are coming along nicely, love your fabrics!
ReplyDeletepretty, pretty!
ReplyDeleteBonnie is keeping us guessing with these different-sized units. Everything is looking good so far!
ReplyDeleteKevin the Quilter thinks Bonnie's pattern is on point, but I think it's a straight set. What is your vote?
DeleteWon't we all eb surprised when the Blocks are revealed? That is the FUN of Bonnie Mysteries. I bet she's laughing at our feeble attepts to guess.
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks so pretty! And how neat to see Santa at the airport. And without his sleigh. ;)
